Dupree Branch Jr., of Fort Collins, passed away on May 3, 2021 from COVID-19. Dupree was born on December 4, 1957 in Barstow, California to Dupree Sr. and Baby Queen (Hampton) Branch. He graduated from Barstow High School in 1976, going on to attend Colorado State University on a football scholarship where he studied physical education and was also known for his speed on the track and field team. He was drafted in 1980 by the St. Louis Cardinals and after spending several years in the NFL, he returned to Fort Collins to make it his home.

Dupree spent the last 17 years as a dedicated employee of Walmart, of which the last 13 were spent as a beloved and valued member of the "2729 overnight team". Dupree was known for his hard work ethic, contagious smile, and positivity. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed reading and collecting comics, listening to music, and spending time with friends. Dupree was an amazing human being with a heart of gold. Thoughts go out to everyone who ever felt his love in their life.

Dupree is survived by his brother, Willard Branch (Tamara) of Long Beach, California; sisters Sandra Birks of Apple Valley, California, Terry Prax of Chisago City, Minnesota, Marilyn Branch of North Carolina; 12 nieces and nephews; and long-time friend Kelley O'Donnell. He was preceded in death by his parents.

An open house celebration of Dupree's life will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 8:30 am to 12 pm at the VFW Post - 603 Lesser Dr., Fort Collins, CO 80524. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in memory of "Baby Queen" in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
