Douglas Wayne Montgomery, 62, of Fort Collins, passed away at 1:10 am on January 12, 2021 at Poudre Valley Hospital.

Mr. Montgomery was born April 17, 1958 in Seymour, Indiana to Billy W. Montgomery and Catherine L. Montgomery.

Doug married Carol Branch on October 19, 1985 on Michigan State's campus in East Lansing, Michigan.

Mr. Montgomery retired in 2016 from a career in the pharmaceutical industry where he was an information technology executive. Doug loved music and participated and appreciated it in many ways including playing many string instruments, taking family to music festivals, and building guitars. Growing up he was a varsity basketball player at Seymour High School, flew single engine airplanes, and cruised his Harley Fatboy to the Fur Peace Ranch in Meigs County, Ohio for guitar camp. He balanced his many interests while prioritizing family time. He watched Amanda swim, Drew play basketball, and Will run track. In his later years he enjoyed eating Sunday donuts with his granddaughter Laney.


Survivors include his wife, Carol Branch Montgomery; daughter Amanda (Ryan Laudermilch); sons Andrew (Eveline Kuchmak) and William (Samantha Shepard); and granddaughter Laney Dean Laudermilch. He is survived by his mother Catherine and sister Beth Montgomery and several nieces and nephews.


Preceding Doug in death are his sister, Jennifer Lynn Montgomery, and his father, Billy W. Montgomery.


A private funeral will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins on Friday, January 15th at 1:00 pm Mountain Time. The service will be streamed on .
