Douglas Mark Hoffer was born on December 1st, 1970. He died unexpectedly on March 23, 2023, from a pulmonary embolism.
Doug was a free spirit, his glass was never full, there was always room for more and he had a knack for finding another fork in the road when he needed. He greeted you with his kind eyes and friendly smile and his big laugh could fill the room.
Doug was a caring and wonderful friend to many and enjoyed sharing his strong faith with his church community. He spent time outdoors whenever he could and always had some of his homemade wine, a bbq meal or a song on his saxophone to share. He recently had followed his passion and became a barber. He shared his barber skills and gift for gab not only with his customers, but he often volunteered his time and talent cutting hair at a local homeless shelter.
He is survived by two sons, Charlie and Jacob Hoffer, his daughter and grandchildren, Taylorae Hagar, and her children Anastasia, Annabella and Adonis (due in June), his parents Dick and Sharon Hoffer, siblings Jennifer (Rick) Schaefer, Samantha (Tigre) Garcia and David (Jennifer) Hoffer, and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life in Loveland, Colorado at the Bent Tree Church on April 21st, 2023 at 2pm and one in Oregon on July 8th, 2023 from 1-4pm at the home of Dick and Sharon Hoffer.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Doug's name to the shelter, The House of the Neighborly Services, for the Guiding Connections Program. Guiding Connections of House of the Neighborly Service 1511 E 11th Street, Loveland, CO 80537.
