Dorothy Etta Wombacher, 96 of Fort Collins, died on June 19, 2011 at Lemay Avenue Health and Rehabilitation Center. Dorothy was born in Fort Collins April 12, 1915 to Earl and Leota Daffin. She married Bernard Wombacher on September 2, 1936. Bernard preceded Dorothy in death January 1972. They were the parents of Elaine Hehn of Fort Collins, Joyce Brown of Thornton, Kathalene Dannatt of Greeley, Bernadine Johnson who preceded her in death November 2010, and Bernard Wombacher of Choteau, Montana. Dorothy is survived by one brother Donald Daffin of Mesa, Arizona. Dorothy also had four brothers who preceded her in death, James Carl Daffin, Richard Lee Daffin and Robert Dee Daffin of California and Walter Wayne Daffin of Montana. Dorothy graduated from Cache la Poudre High School in 1936. She and her husband ran the Tiny Tot Child Care Center for 30 years here in Fort Collins. After retiring from the Child Care business she was an Ombudsman for the community for several years. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and active in St. Rose of Lima, St. Martha and St. Dominic's Rosary Guild. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Zonta Club and the Lioness. In addition to her five children, Dorothy has 13 grand children, 28 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. The Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy will be Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed John XXIII Catholic Church, 1220 University Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery.
