Dorothy Louise Warren, 88, of Colorado Springs formerly of Fort Collins, died December 4, 2010. Mrs. Warren was born December 11, 1921, in Slope County, North Dakota to Fred and Marie Stegner. Dorothy married Harold A. Warren on September 23, 1945, at First Baptist Church of Fort Collins. Mrs. Warren came to this area in 1934 from North Dakota. She graduated from Cache La Poudre High School. Dorothy was a telephone operator from 1941 to 1945. In 1945 to 1980 Dorothy and Harold owned and operated Warren Funeral Chapel, which is now Bohlender Funeral Chapel. She was on an advisory board of Christian Women's Club, coordinator for Friendship Bible Coffees, and Deaconess at 1st Baptist Church. She also worked on the March of Dimes and Salk Vaccine Drive and was Chairperson of Christmas Seals for two years. Not only did Dorothy have a creative passion for sewing, china painting, knitting, and scrapbooking, but she had a great desire to share her handiwork with others. She modeled hospitality to everyone in her sphere of influence. Survivors include her daughters, Roberta Litke, Janet Neumann both of Colorado Springs, and JoAnn Cory of Grand Forks, North Dakota; brother, Tom Stegner of Palm Springs, California; and sister, Marjorie Rowden of Colorado Springs; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Preceding Dorothy in death are her husband, Harold A. Warren; brothers, Norbert Stegner, Fred Stegner, Robert Stegner, Ira Stegner and sister, Gladys Schimke. A Funeral service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
