Dorothy Marie Olson

Dorothy Olson was born September 22, 1923, in Mableton, Iowa to Howard and Willamina Powell. She passed at the young age of 99 on March 10, 2023. She Married Laverne (Ole) Olson on September 9, 1947. They move from Iowa to Colorado in 1954 where they lived out the rest of their lives with their twin boys; Gene and Dean. Ole and Dorothy had many adventures together, they loved to travel and spent some of their winters in Arizona. They also had a love of dancing and playing cards. Dorothy was full of life. She was a jokester and a bit of a spit fire. Her favorite time was spending it with family especially with her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved to cook, her kitchen smelled of Lefsa, Kraut burgers and pies. Dorothy also loved spending time with her lady friend's playing cards and laughing about all things. The Catholic Church was a huge part of Dorothy's life. She hardly missed Sunday church and she read her bible quite often to the point she had to duct tape it together.

Survivors include her two sons Gene Olson and Dean Olson (Loretta). Two Grandchildren Jody York (JC); Stacia Lange (Brad). Three grandchildren Macy York, Jayden Lange and Austin Lange.

Preceding Dorothy in death are parents Howard and Willamina Powell; five brothers, Cecil, Bernard, Leonard, Lawrence and Frances Powell; husband Laverne (Ole) Olson; daughter in-law Ursula Olson.
