Dorothy Eleanor Gordon died peacefully on 29 August, 2020 in her home in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was surrounded by many of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was born to Bengt and Eleanora Anderson on 5 June, 1926 in Manhattan, New York. They both immigrated from Sweden, met in New York City and married.
Dorothy grew up in New Hyde Park, NY. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Adelphi University in 1947 as a Cadet in the Cadet Nurse Corps. Dorothy married David Gordon in 1948. Together they raised 7 children in Hurley, NY where they resided until 1977. Her husband retired and they relocated to Huntington Beach California.
Dorothy is survived by her 7 children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years in 2000.
In addition to a nursing career, Dorothy was a published author of a dialysis cookbook, Cooking for David which sold worldwide as one of the first comprehensive dialysis cookbooks. She was also an artist of paint and cloth creating many beautiful works of art for her children, family and her friends to cherish. Her love of God, family, art, science and history lives on and is a legacy to all of us.
