Doris Evelyn Strachan, 86, of Fort Collins, died at her home on May 5, 2015.
Mrs. Strachan was born April 3, 1929 in Dempster, South Dakota to John and Dora Saathoff.
Doris married Marvin Dale Strachan on February 20, 1951 in Watertown, South Dakota.
Doris and Marvin lived in Kennebec, Pierce and Watertown, South Dakota before moving to Fort Collins.
Doris loved spending time with family, traveling, crafting, and time in her flower and vegetable gardens.
Survivors include her children, Helen F. Medcalf (John) of San Diego, California, Norma J. Long (Dave) of Fort Collins, Terry Strachan of Aurora, Colorado, Scott Strachan of Fort Collins, and Bonnie Smith (Kevin) of Topeka Kansas; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Preceding Doris in death are her husband, Marvin; parents, John and Dora; brothers, Ralph Saathoff , Jim Saathoff and William Saathoff; sisters, Matilda West and Anna Dewall and son, Thomas R. Strachan.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Pastor Paul McGraw will officiate the service. Those who desire may view Mrs. Strachan on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
