Doris Ann Jensen, 79, of Fort Collins passed away at home under Hospice care on July 10, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Doris was born on October 14, 1929 to Oliver and Arnolda Lundberg in Ulen, Minnesota. She graduated from high school in Ulen, and married Marvin Jensen on September 4, 1947. Doris and Marvin lived in North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Idaho, Maryland, and Colorado. During these years she was active in several volunteer activities. She taught vacation bible school and led Cub Scout groups. Doris's most notable volunteer activity was with the Auxiliary at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho. For ten years she spent many hours with patients and was president of the local Auxiliary in 1974. In 1975 she became president of the Idaho State Auxiliary. In 1976 she was appointed the State Auxiliary Leader for the western U.S. After moving to Colorado, Doris joined the Colorado State University Woman's Association and is currently a member. Doris had many interests. She traveled with Marvin extensively during their 61 year marriage, meeting numerous interesting people. She loved to travel. She was a great traveling companion and made friends around the world. While living in Idaho she delighted in trout fishing. She also had a passion for collecting antiques, crafting, including quilting and card making. She also enjoyed cooking, often trying new and unusual recipes. Doris is survived by her husband Marvin, sisters Vivian of Newberg, Oregon and Dolores of Moorhead, Minnesota, daughter Connie of Twin Falls, Idaho, sons Jeffrey of Bainbridge Island, Washington, and Eric of Westminster, Maryland; grandchildren Greg, Sean, Lucas, Kari, Curtis, Mathew, and Mia. She also had three great grandchildren, Kaila, Bradley, and Kassidi. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Leo. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Stuart St. with Pastor Dick Kling officiating. Interment will be at Jevnaker Cemetery in Borup, Minnesota.
