Doris Ann Anderson, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 19, 2011. She had been battling cancer for the last several months. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Doris was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on October 6, 1934. She was born to Henry "Pete" and Marie Grassel. She attended nursing school in South Dakota and then moved to Colorado where she met her husband, Jerry "Buster" Anderson. They were married in 1962. They adopted their daughter, Gretchen, in 1969. She worked as a nurse at Poudre Valley Hospital for more than 30 years. She spent most of her nursing career working in the Poudre Valley Hospital Blood Bank. She enjoyed going to the gym and gardening. Her beautiful rose gardens were a source of great enjoyment to her. She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen Anderson Meister and her son-in-law, John Meister. She also considered Gretchen's biological sister, Ann Thiel, to be her own daughter as well. She has four grandchildren: Hope Marie Jeffers, Alexander Aaron Jeffers, Rebecca Jean Meister, and Katelyn Marie Keys. She is also survived by her sister, and friend, Dorene Mary Grassel. She is preceded in death by her husband, and best friend, Jerry "Buster" Anderson, her brother, David Grassel, and her parents "Pete" and Marie Grassel.
