Donna J. Brough

Donna Jean Brough , 91 of Fort Collins passed away August 22, 2022 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Donna was born August 13, 1931 in Newtown, Missouri to Paul and Reba (Markel) Busick.

Donna was one of four children who grew up on a farm in Newtown, Missouri, Donna received basketball honors by being chosen for the All-Star Team. After graduating as valedictorian of her high school graduating class, Donna left Newtown to become a secretary in Kansas City, Missouri, returning home a year later to be secretary to the newly organized Newtown-Harris School District.

In 1950 she married H. O. Brough Jr. of Newtown, Missouri and accompanied him to San Diego where he was deployed as a member of the U. S. Navy. After H.O's discharge from the Navy they returned to Missouri, settling in Kansas City, Missouri.

In 1967 the family relocated to Boulder, Colorado and in 1977 she began her career at the Boulder County Assessor's Office, and was responsible for all the "metes and bounds" in Boulder County prior to its computerization. Donna retired in 1997 after working 20 years in the Assessor's office to travel and spend time with her family.

She was a longtime member of the Boulder Valley Christian Church volunteering her time in the nursery and as a "greeter".

Donna is survived by her three children, Sherri (Richard) Wagner of Fort Collins, Rick (Lisa) Brough of Fort Collins, and Brett (Sheryl) Brough of Brighton, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and her sister, Shirley Morris.

Preceding her death were her parents, her brother James Busick of Newtown, Missouri, her sister Linda Weston of Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter-in-law LaRae Brough, and grandchild Erika Brough.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 27th at 10:00 at the Newtown Christian Church in Newtown, Missouri
