Donald Denby

Donald William Denby was born near Fallon, Mont., to Vida and Alden Denby. At the age of 16, he joined the CCC in Thompson Falls, Mont. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1939. He met Mary Frances Blank and they were married April 29, 1943. The war years took him overseas in 1944 with the 91st Troop Carrier Squadron and again in Korea in 1954 with the 6146th Air Force Advisory Group in Taegu. Lt. Col. Donald W. Denby retired from the United States Air Force in the spring of 1963. The following years, while as an electrical engineer, he worked for NASA at the Johnson Space Center and Kennedy Space Center. The winter of 1972 saw Don retire and move his family to Fort Collins. He worked in real estate for Acott & Assoc. and Larimer County Realty. Throughout his entire life, family and church were a constant. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and an elder most of his adult life. Don Denby was loved and respected by all. He was someone you could trust, someone you could talk to, a real family patriarch and mentor. Don is survived by his wife, Mary Frances, his one and only love; son, Bruce Denby; daughters, Linda and son-in-law Ray Rowland, Nancy and son-in-law Skip Fore; four grandchildren, Duke Rowland and wife Sara, Mandy Rowland, Shawn Fore and Ryan Fore and fianc ¬ Jennifer Engel; along with great-grandtwins waiting to arrive in August. Services and burial will be held in Terry, Mont., where he began his circle of life, he shall come to rest.
