Donaciano "Don" Chavez

Donaciano Chavez was born on September 9, 1939 in Garita, New Mexico. He was the son of Pablo Chavez and Lucia Lucero Chavez. The family moved to Colorado in 1947. On February 23, 1963, Don married Juliet M Romero and they were married for 55 years. Together they have three children: Donald J Chavez, Tina L. Chavez and Roxane I. Chavez.

Don worked for Cactus Hill Ranch in Windsor, Colorado for many years. They eventually moved to Fort Collins and he retired from the City of Fort Collins in 2004.

Don loved animals, playing his guitar and singing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Don passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 22, 2018.

Don was survived by his wife, Juliet Chavez; his son, Donald J Chavez and his wife, Brenda Stuckert; daughter, Tina L. Chavez, her husband, Dean Askew and their two children Nina and Brennan Askew, his only surviving sister, Ramona Sanchez, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Lucia Chavez; his daughter, Roxane I. Chavez; his sisters, Dora Brito, Margie Lujan and brothers, Mel Chavez and Ben Chavez.
