Don Albert Neil, 96, of Fort Collins, died July 30, 2011 at his home. Mr. Neil was born March 7, 1915 in Lowell, Arkansas to Don and Flora Neil. Don married Anne M. Clarke on August 10, 1962 in Greeley, Colorado. Mr. Neil joined the US Army at the age of 18 ½ and was discharged on June 30, 1934 as a Private First Class-Infantry. He then joined the US Navy and was honorably discharged as a Chief Electricians Mate on October 19, 1945. Don loved serving his country. Mr. Neil retired from Eastman Kodak Company as a security guard. Don loved to fly; flying whenever he could for 60 years. He flew privately for some oil businesses, and an air ambulance out of Stapleton International Airport. Mr. Neil also enjoyed riding his pinto horses all over the mountains. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans. Don was a devoted husband. Survivors include his wife, Anne; step-daughter, Stephanie Rand of Carbondale, Colorado; and two grandchildren, Kristina Boese of Fort Collins and John Boese of Snowmass. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "B", 4400 W.
