Dennis Ashley Anderson, 72, passed away September 17, 2021 after losing his battle with cancer.
He was born December 7, 1948 in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, raised and lived in Buffalo, New York until moving to Fort Collins in the early 90's.
Dennis was a Marine veteran of Vietnam from 1966 to 1972. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, George Beach Post #4 in Fort Collins. Also, the Marine Corps League, Honor Guard, VFW and the DAV. He was a quiet man but the kind of person that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Denny (family name) enjoyed fishing the Poudre and picnicking up there with family, he always brought the beer! We also must make mention of his two little companions Buddy and Bo, his pups. They kept him on his toes for sure.
He is survived by his brother, Randy Anderson of Buffalo, New York and his step-daughter, Patricia Dettman of Fort Collins, step-son, Jimmie Call of Brighton, his grandson, great-grandchildren, several nephews, his niece and their children. Also his sisters-in-law, Karen Hopkins (Fredrick's widow) of Fort Collins and Ruth Anderson (Darwin's widow) of Buffalo, New York.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Anderson; brother, Darwin Anderson; and brother, Fredrick Hopkins.
There will be an "open house", (with military honors at 1:00pm) on November 13th, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the American Legion, 2124 N US Highway 287, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
