Delbert L. Wilkins was born on May 7, 1954 at Poudre Hospital in Fort Collins, CO. Passed away at Poudre Hospital on October 15, 2019. He graduated from Poudre High School in the spring of 1972. He was employed in various jobs that all were rewarding to him; Rudolph Pump and Equipment; Willox Wrecking, the State Game and Fish in the trout rearing unit up the Poudre Canyon; Colorado State University Atmospheric Sciences Department building towers for the weather and temperature readings, other data up in Steamboat, CO and retired from Colorado State University in the 'Housing and Conference Set-Up Departments'. he loved working and bringing to life, classic cars from Willox Wrecking or ones he would purchase elsewhere, hunting and fishing and building model cars. He was most proud of a 1935 Ford 5 window, a 1948 Studebaker and later an AMC Rambler for his wife, while also helping his Father restore a classic 1940 car.

Delbert was preceded in death by his father, Delbert R. Wilkins, and several Aunts, Uncles, cousins. Delbert is survived by his wife and soul mate, constant companion/caretaker later in his life (a "flatlander" from Minnesota) Stacey (Kubu) Wilkins, his sweet Mother Betty (Tamlin) Hout, and the best Sister in the whole world, Debra (Wilkins) Highfill - who shared the same birth date; the best niece in the whole world Amanda and husband Shawn Kendrot, their children great niece Bella and great nephew Gavin - whom he enjoyed watching grow up and becoming active participants in sports of all kinds, and excelling in school; the best nephew in the whole world Tanner and wife Ashlyn Highfill; and several family members and friends. and, last but not least, our 2 Jack Russell's Stewert and Rustle. (I have the best of everything, apparently!)

A Celebration of Life and sharing of a Pot Luck lunch will be held at the Bellvue Grange, in Bellvue, CO on Saturday November 2, 2019, from Noon to 4pm, where you are cordially invited to share happy memories, stories and special times you shared with Delbert during his lifetime (even if you have to stand up in front of all the people and do it). His nephew Tanner has already requested to speak, so he can start the ball rolling for everyone! Bring yourselves and enjoy being together.
