Delbert "Tom" Thomas Brown, 74, of Fort Collins, died July 17, 2007, at a local nursing home. Mr. Brown was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Fort Collins to BT Brown and Edith Smith Brown. Tom grew up on the family farms southeast of Harmony Road and attended Timnath School. He then attended Colorado A&M and received his bachelor of science degree in animal science. He then returned to the family farm and worked with his father and uncle. He married Peggy Jean Reckard on Nov. 6, 1955, in Wellington. Tom was a Sunday School superintendant at the Fort Collins First Baptist Church. He was a 4-H leader and was hired as a Larimer County Extension Agent for the 4-H in 1975 and held that position for 19 years. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Brown of Fort Collins; two sons, Dale Brown and his wife, Terri, of Fort Collins, and Kyle Brown and his wife, Gena, of Pulaski, Wis.; a daughter, Pam Heeney and her husband, Stan; a sister, Carolyn Hammond of Lance Creek, Wyo.; and seven grandchildren, Derrick and Kendra Brown, Mike, Greg and Vicki Heeney, and Brandon and Sara Brown. Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents. A funeral will be held at First Baptist Church, 900 E. Prospect Road, at 10 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
