Listen to Obituary
Debbie Bee passed away March 1, 2024 in Fort Collins, Colorado at the age of 74.

Deborah Ann Johnson was born December 7, 1949 to Robert (Bob) Johnson and Penelope (Penny) Johnson in Denver Colorado. In January, 1951 her family moved from Denver to Wellington, Colorado. She grew up on a farm with her two sisters, Kris and Vicki. She loved life on the farm and worked hard helping brand and castrate calves, do field work on the tractor, and drive trucks during harvest. She also became very good at cooking, a skill which she learned from her mother. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was in the fourth grade. It was the best and most significant decision of her life.

She graduated from Poudre High School in 1967. She then went to the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She paid for part of her schooling by custom swathing hay for local farmers. She graduated in 1971 with a degree in Elementary Education.

Debbie married Philip Bee on August 7th 1971 at Wellington Community Church, where they both grew up. They were married for forty-five years and had two children, Melanie and Mark. During the time her children were growing up, Debbie was very involved at church. She taught Sunday School and youth group, and helped with Vacation Bible School, children's Christmas programs, and communion.

Debbie also loved gardening. With the help of her parents and sister (Kris) she started a large garden in 1982 and began delivering produce to local grocery stores in Laramie, Cheyenne, Fort Collins, Greeley and Denver. They also sold produce at farmers markets in Fort Collins and Cheyenne. As her children, nieces, and nephews helped in the garden she taught them the value of hard work, and the garden grew to nearly 2 acres.

In 2002 she began working at Gulley's Greenhouse. She was always a very hard worker and retired as the shipping manager. Shortly after retiring, Debbie was diagnosed with ALS. She battled the disease with bravery and courage for nearly two years before the Lord took her home.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. Johnson and Penelope A. Johnson. She is survived by her sisters, Kris (Jack) Jageler, Vicki (Monty) Cramer, her children, Melenie (Colby) Stockton, and Mark (Janice) Bee, and twelve grandchildren.
