David Edward Wortman, 75, of Greeley, formerly of Fort Collins, died Feb. 26, 2006, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Mr. Wortman was born Jan. 14, 1931, in Loveland to Herman Wortman and Florence Reeves Wortman. David entered the Army in 1951. He then entered the Air Force and retired in 1972, serving in Korea and Vietnam, earning the Korean Service Medal, one bronze Campaign Star, the United Nations Service Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal. He married Odessa Irene Mark on Oct. 17, 1962, in Fort Collins. David lived 18 years in Fort Collins and the last seven years in Greeley. After retiring from the military, he was an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, leather tooling and to the end of his life loved and wanted to drive truck. Survivors include four children, Lineta Wortman of Greeley, Pamela Farley and her husband, Steve, of Greeley, James Wortman and his wife, Pam, of Pierce, and Karen Trumbo and her husband, Mike, of Fort Collins; a sister, Blanche Campbell of Loveland; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. David is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Odessa; and five brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery with military honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard. Bishop Len Lovin will be officiating at the service.
