David Eugene Siefken

David (Dave) Eugene Siefken Age: 75 • Fort Collins, CO. January 28, 1947 - August 3, 2022. Dave passed away peacefully at his home August 3, 2022.

Dave was born January 28, 1947; the fifth of six children to Myron and Louise (Lienert) Siefken of Loveland, Colorado. Dave grew up in Loveland, Ft. Collins, and Johnstown, Colorado and did custom harvesting with his family in his early years. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1969. He did auto body work at Ghent Motors in the 1970s followed by a career in trucking; later owning his own business moving mobile homes.

Dave married Cynthia Banfield in 1981, they divorced in 1995. They had two children, Philip in 1985 and Emily in 1987. Dave moved to Grover, Colorado in 2007 after retiring from trucking and enjoyed a few years of farming with the help of two of his brothers, Jim and Mike. Dave moved back to Ft. Collins in 2016 to spend his later years closer to friends and family.

Dave was lovingly cared for by his children and ex-wife in his final days. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Myron and Louise Siefken, his sister, Sister Mary Siefken SCL, and two sisters-in-law, Donna Siefken (Patrick) and Mary Ethel Siefken (Gerald). Survivors include his children Philip Siefken, Ft. Collins, CO; and Emily (J.R.) Galey, Ft. Collins, CO; ex-wife Cynthia Banfield (Craig), Cedaredge, CO; grandchildren Gavin and Leona Galey, Ft. Collins, CO; his brothers Gerald Siefken (Dona), New Orleans, LA; Patrick Siefken (Gregory), Palm Springs, CA; James Siefken (Patricia), Ft. Collins, CO; Michael Siefken (Diane), Ft. Collins, CO; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, colleagues, and neighbors who loved him.
