David Maurer

David William Maurer It is with a heavy heart that we relay the passing of our beloved David 41 on June 17th, 2005. He passed away suddenly at his home in Fort Collins after a long struggle with illness. David was born in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma on 9/13/1963 and spent most of his life in Virginia. At the age of two years he was diagnosed with Diabetes. His parents raised him to live life to the fullest with no barriers or fear. David was a shooting star that blazed through his time here on earth seeking the next conquest or challenge touching peopleGÇÖs lives with his generosity and quick wit. David graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Electrical
Engineering in 1987. He developed his craft of computer network engineering at CExec, AOL, Bay Networks, Nortel Networks, and Foundry Networks. His profession took him all over the world and provided many fabulous adventures and friendships. His passions were computers, cars, boats, motorcycles and his family and friends. While his professional achievements are outstanding, at the end of the road, the legacy that he leaves behind was his strength of character and ability to maintain optimism. David was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Bill Maurer. He is survived by his sister, Debbie Prentiss and husband Paul, nephews Jason and Steven Prentiss of Fort Collins, Colorado, and many auntGÇÖs, uncles, cousins and friends. He was GÇ£Uncle DaveGÇ¥ to many. A quote that he had framed read: You have never lived GÇÿtill youGÇÖve almost died. For those who fight for it, life has a flavor the protected will never know. A memorial celebration of his life will be held June 29th at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, 9350 Braddock Road, Burke, Virginia.
