Listen to Obituary
Dave Elder went home to be with Jesus on October 10, 2023 after a lengthy illness. He was 75.

Dave was born in Fort Collins to Bill and Maxine Elder. He graduated from Poudre High School in 1966 and then enlisted in the US Navy in 1967 being stationed in San Diego. Upon returning to Fort Collins, he earned his LPN license and worked in various nursing home facilities. He loved cats, enjoyed playing cards, and watching Bronco games but his lifelong passion was music. At age 3 he was already pretending to play the piano. He started lessons early in life and studied music for years. He was incredibly gifted at piano and organ and played in several churches in Fort Collins and Denver. Despite losing some mental capability towards the end of his life, he was still able to play the piano for the residents of his facility.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by two brothers, William (Judy) Elder of Windsor and Robert (Joyce) Elder of Fort Collins and two sisters, Bonnie Karagan of Vacaville, CA and Lois Neckel of Cheyenne, WY as well as multiple nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and one great, great nephew.

Our family would like to express appreciation to the staff of Pelican Point Health and Rehabilitation Center in Windsor as well as Pathways of Northern Colorado for their excellent care of Dave over the last seven months.

Private graveside services will be held at Grover Cemetery, Grover, Colorado.
