Darleen Elsie Bauhs Baloun, of Fort Collins, Colorado, went to heaven Friday, January 13, 2012 surrounded by family and friends.
She was born April 26, 1938, in Highmore, South Dakota, the daughter of Reginald Leonard and Elsie Laura Baloun. She was the oldest of 7 children, Eugene, Yvonne, Terry, Gloria, Brad and Daryl deceased. On August 23, 1958, she was married to Gordon William Bauhs, who survives.
She graduated from Faulkton High School in 1956. She then attended Personnel Training School in Omaha, Nebraska. She then moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the Navy Department. In 1957 she returned to South Dakota to work at Faulkton Drug and to marry her loving husband, Gordon, of 53 years. After moving to Colorado and being employed by Colorado State University for 24 years, she retired and enjoyed a part-time residence in Fort Collins, Colorado and Laughlin, Nevada. She loved to decorate her houses, cook, cross-stitch, crochet, do ceramics, play bridge with her friends and was an Extroardinary Minister and member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband Gordon, 4 daughters, Darcy Darleen Foss and spouse Tory, Lisa Anne Ford and 2 children Colby and Casee, Michelle Marie Jeffords and spouse Edward and 3 daughters, Jessica, Kia and Taylor, and Suzette Renae Weis and 2 children, Jarod and Emma.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daryl.
A Rosary will be held Tuesday, 7 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Those who desire may view Mrs. Bauhs Tuesday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
