Daniel Richard Tweeton, 54, of Fort Collins passed away December 18, 2016 after a valiant 5 year struggle with health issues following a stroke.
He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 6, 1962 and graduated from Creighton Preparatory School and the University of Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Tweeton; son, Sam Tweeton of Corvallis, OR; daughter, Audrey Tweeton of Fort Collins; stepsons, Ryan Hunsaker of Littleton, CO, and Will Hunsaker (Ashley) of Wichita Falls, TX; and step grandson, Roman. He is also survived by sisters, Gayle Epp (Michael), Nancy May, Janis Silverberg (David) and beloved niece and nephews, Carly, Jake, Luke, Chris and Ryan. Preceding him in death were his parents, Gerald Richard Tweeton and Audrey Lund Tweeton.
Dan's degree in Construction Management led him to jobs with PCL in Los Angeles, CA; Midcon in Albuquerque, NM and The Neenan Company and Delta Construction in Fort Collins. He formed his own company, Verde Project Development in 2006 and was highly respected in his field.
Dan enjoyed fly fishing, sports and music, particularly Bruce Springsteen, and was proud to have seen "The Boss" in concert over 40 times. He loved soccer and coached both of his children and many area youth over the years. He was also a lifelong Nebraska Cornhusker Football Fan.
He was a kind man, loyal friend and loving husband, father, and brother and will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
