Daniel Robert Stermitz

Daniel Stermitz, 58, was born April 7, 1967, in Logan, Utah to Frank and Patricia Stermitz. His family moved to Ft Collins in 1967. In 1970 Dan enrolled at Gateway. After graduating Foothills-Gateway, he continued in its community programs until 2021. He ended his career with Otero Day Program. Mosaic supported Dan's adult residences, first at Royal House and for the last ten years in the loving home of Kate and Adrian Alvarado (and Dylan). Dan died under brief hospice care at home in Severance, March 5.
Dan loved rooms full of laughter, music, sunshine, life on-the-go with the Alvarados, Gretchen's Colorado visits, and walks with his father. Deepest gratitude to all the wonderful people who helped Dan live a full and happy life, including special friends at Foothills, Mosaic and Otero.
Dan is survived by his parents, Frank and Patricia (Ft Collins), siblings, Tom (FC), Joe (Karen, The Road), Gretchen Kissock (Kelly, Davis CA) and Matt (Winnemucca), five nephews and two nieces. A memorial service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel Tuesday, March 14 at 10:00 AM. If desired, donations in Dan's name may be made to Mosaic or Foothills-Gateway.
