Daniel M. Roettjer, 50, of LaPorte, went with God on Nov. 12, 2005. Dan was born June 11, 1955, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Wesley A. Roettjer and Janette A. Ressler Roettjer. He moved to Colorado Springs at 5 years of age with his family. Dan moved to Fort Collins in 1975 to attend Colorado State University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1979. He then married Regina R. Panella on Aug. 27, 1983, in Fort Collins. Dan was a general merchandise department manager at the College Avenue King Soopers. To Dan, family always came first. He was very dedicated to his family and his job. He was an excellent husband, father, brother, son, mentor, and teacher, who always cared. Dan did his best in everything he did and was very helpful, thorough, and dependable. Dan was very close to God. He loved his dogs and horses. He will always be loved and remembered by his family and friends. Surviving Dan are his wife and daughter, Regina and Becki Roettjer of LaPorte; his mother, Janette Roettjer, of Colorado Springs; two brothers, David Roettjer of Estes Park, and Mark Roettjer of Chester, Va.; two sisters, Kaye Robinson of Colorado Springs, and Kathy Lobato of Castle Rock. Preceding Dan in death is his father. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Pastor Marc Leverett will officiate the service. It is the family's request that Denver Broncos or CSU Ram apparel be worn to the service.
