Daniel Abraham Rairdon, lovingly known as Dan, "Mr. Dan," "Uncle Dan," "Grandpa," and by many as "Dan Dan the Bus Driver Man," passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, surrounded by love.

Born on April 21, 1957, Daniel was the seventh of eleven children born to Albert and Sylvia Rairdon (Shogren). From a young age, he lived a life defined by his faith in God, service, and quiet strength. He was a devoted family man whose steady presence brought comfort, reassurance, and love to those around him.

Daniel proudly served the Northern Colorado community as a bus driver for Poudre School District for 27 years. He truly loved his work and often spoke of "his kids" with deep affection. He took great care in their safety and well-being, building meaningful relationships with students and families alike. His kindness, reliability, and genuine care left a lasting impact on countless lives.

A strong man of faith, Daniel carried his beliefs with him throughout his entire life. His faith guided how he loved, how he served, and how he showed up for others. Even in the end, he remained steadfast—facing his final days with grace, peace, and trust. As Scripture says,

"I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken." — Psalm 16:8

Daniel deeply cherished life's adventures with his devoted wife, Sharon, whom he married on June 9, 1984. Together, they shared many hikes and travels, creating memories side by side. Among those adventures was an incredible 40-mile mountain hike, a testament to Daniel's perseverance, love of the outdoors, and the strong bond they shared.

Above all, Daniel treasured his role as Grandpa. He took immense joy in being a loving, present, and engaged grandfather, finding great joy in time spent with his grandchildren—a role he embraced wholeheartedly.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his children and their families: Anthony Freeman and Hannah Jacobsen (daughter); Thaddeus Rairdon (son); Abraham Rairdon (son) and Ashley Rairdon; Donovan Smith and Katherine Smith (daughter); Caleb Rairdon (son); his 10 grandchildren; and Dan's ten siblings—his oldest brother David Rairdon and wife Lois; John Rairdon; Paul Rairdon and wife Beverly; Elizabeth Rairdon; James Rairdon and wife Susan; Peter Rairdon and wife Joyce; Rebecca Rairdon and husband Rick; Samuel Rairdon and wife Carrie; Stephen Rairdon and wife Melissa; and his youngest brother Benjamin Rairdon and wife Karen, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends. Daniel was the first of his siblings to pass, a loss felt deeply across his entire family.

After a courageous battle with a fast-growing brain tumor, Daniel spent his final days at peace. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this time—through prayers, visits, letters, meals, financial support, shared memories, and countless acts of kindness. Your love and support have meant more than words can express.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Timberline Church in Fort Collins. Light refreshments will follow. Guests are kindly asked to arrive 15–30 minutes early to allow time for seating, as approximately 1,000 attendees are expected.

Daniel's life of faith, service, and love stands as a testimony to the words:

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:21

Daniel Abraham Rairdon will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
