Daniel David Kramer passed away peacefully with his wife Donna Kramer at his home in Bellvue, Colorado on May 12, 2024. He was 70 years of age. The cause of death was complications from cancer.
Dan was a native Colorado resident all his life. He was born in Loveland on November 2nd, 1953, and raised in Fort Collins by his father, Wilbur ("Bill") Kramer and mother, Martha Kramer. Dan, and with his two older brothers, Jim Kramer, and Mike Kramer, first lived in various homes in west Fort Collins near City Park Lake. The family eventually moved to South College Avenue, where Dan's parents purchased and operated the La Siesta Motel for a number of years. At age 18 he graduated from Fort Collins High School in the class of 1971.
Shortly after Dan's graduation the Kramer family lost their patriarch Bill Kramer. Afterward, Dan set out to honor the Kramer name, he did so by establishing his family home on the property he inherited from his father.
Dan and his friends spent the later part of the 1970's building a cabin by hand with the help of a saw mill they also constructed. They utilized beetle kill on the property to complete the structure; this was the first building completed on the sprawling property.
During the following years, the buildings on Dan's property began to multiply. Structures were not the only thing that multiplied on the property, Dan also met the love of his life Donna Silhasek and her children Joshua and Rachel and eagerly welcomed them into his home.
Decades followed, construction at Kramer's resort continued, Dan added ponds, out buildings and new rooms to the once small cabin. Family and friends were always around to help.
When Dan was not doting on his property, he was managing his successful excavation business "Kramer's Excavation." Dan was well respected and highly recommended, not only were you promised quality work, but he did it with honesty, kindness, and a smile. Most customers became lifelong friends.
Dan Kramer was a great man, a man of dignity and kindness. He was humble and true to both himself and others. The majesties he created over throughout the years of his life will continue to enrich the lives of those that he left behind.
Daniel David Kramer was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur David Kramer and Martha Marie Kramer, and brother James Edgar Kramer. Dan is survived by his brother Michael Kramer, of Erie CO, his loving wife Donna Kramer of Bellvue CO, and children Rachel Chaplin, of Fort Collins, CO, and Joshua Higgins, of Eaton, CO.
