Daisy (Norma Jean) Serr

August 5, 1946 — December 15, 2024

Listen to Obituary
Daisy (Norma Jean) Serr was a faithful covenant-keeping disciple of Jesus Christ throughout her life. She advanced peacefully and suddenly from mortality to the Spirit World at the age of 78 on December 15, 2024, in Loveland, Colorado.

Daisy was born on August 5, 1946, in Lexington, Kentucky and grew up in a children's home. She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at age 14. She loved and treasured her forever parents, Martha Ann and Ted Lassetter. She felt richly blessed to be a member of the Lassetter family. She signed her own adoption papers at age 18, and was later sealed to them on July 19, 1968.

Daisy lived with her family in Lexington, Kentucky until they moved to Scarsdale, New York. She met her husband, Ed Serr, at a Young Single Adult activity in New York City. They were married and sealed to each other just four months later in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 20, 1968. Daisy and Ed first lived in New York City while Ed attended Columbia University. After graduation, they moved to Boulder, Colorado. Next, they moved to Fort Hood, Texas while Ed served in the U.S. Army. They returned to Boulder in October 1971, where for the next 47 years they raised their four daughters and made many friends. In 2018, Daisy and Ed moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to be closer to the temple and in-state family.

Daisy's membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was her guiding influence throughout life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved flowers and nature. Daisy was an avid walker in her Colorado neighborhoods – surrounded by the mountains, valleys, lakes and streams. She delighted in bringing smiles to others by constantly showing love – often with funny antics.

Together, Ed and Daisy created a life filled with hard work, extraordinary faith, constant service, and a great love for each other, their daughters and their families. Daisy worked and helped in innumerable ways throughout her life. She often served as a Primary teacher and compassionate service leader. She served as a temple worker for over 10 years. She loved and served her family, neighbors, friends, and community – as well as those she only met in passing. Daisy was blessed with the spiritual capacity to know how and when to lend a hand and was always finding ways to comfort someone in need.

Daisy is survived by her husband, Ed; her father,Ted; three siblings: Ted, Jr. (Ann), Teri Stock (Curt), and Kipp (Kristen); four daughters: Christi Gilmore (Andrew), Anna Young (Brent), Elyse Diewald (Gary), and Cameo Hartson (Jay Dreiling); 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her mother Martha Ann, and two siblings Jack (Lori) and Martha Anna advanced to the Spirit World before her.

We all loved Daisy so much.
