On November 18, 2025, Cynthia "Cindy" Kalb Coughenour lived the last day of a life more rich in love and experience than its number of years could contain. Cindy climbed The Great Wall of China, floated in the Arctic Sea, visited the sunflowers at Van Gogh's grave, beheld the white rhinos of Tanzania, swam with the Manatees in Florida, and walked under the waterfalls of Iceland; carrying her abundant curiosity and kindness many more place across the world.
Cindy was born in Syracuse, New York, to Donna and Clifford Kalb. Her most treasured parts of childhood were spent sailing, waterskiing, and wind surfing on Cross Lake. While in college, she met and married Michael Coughenour, and the two moved to Fort Collins, Colorado.
After attaining her Masters Degree and Certified Public Accounting license, Cindy received a financial analyst position at Hewlett-Packard (HP), eventually becoming part of Agilent Technologies. Soon after, she left for Dako Inc.; where she was promoted to the position of Site Manager.
Having achieved so much in her corporate career, Cindy decided to start a new adventure by buying and operating a successful inn and restaurant in Maine, alongside her business partner Fred Seibert. The cross-country distance led to the unfortunate dissolution of Cindy's marriage to Michael.
Eventually returning to Colorado, Cindy took up the position of Chief Financial Officer at In-Situ, Inc., where she remained for thirteen years, until her retirement.
In 2017, inside a lighthouse on a Danish island, Cindy married the man she determined to be her life partner and soulmate, Fred Seibert. She considered herself blessed to discover the depths of love that he provided to her.
While Cindy was well-respected in her professional successes, her priority in life was always family. Her greatest pride and joy was her daughter, Jordan, whom she considered to be her best friend.
Cindy, Jordan, and Fred took many adventures together; traveling across the world in hot air balloons and paragliders, in a Venetian gondola, an Arctic ice-breaker ship, and on dogsleds across the tundra of Lapland. Eventually though, they always met back at Cindy's favorite place; at home with family.
Cindy is preceded in death by her by her brother, James, her father, Clifford, her mother, Donna, and her dog, Cody. She is survived by her husband, Fred Seibert, her daughter, Jordan, her sister, Julie Ehrich, her brother, Clifford Kalb, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
