Cresencio N. Ortiz
Cresencio N. Ortiz, 71, of Fort Collins died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at 11:10 a.m. at his residence in Fort Collins. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Gallegos Jr., Elias Rodriquez Jr., Tomas Ortiz, Johnny Hernandez, Bobby Ortiz, Anthony Ortiz, Gary Cruz and Albert Gallegos. Cresencio Ortiz was born on July 6, 1935, in Jourdanton, Texas; he later moved to Fort Collins in 1952. He later married Patsy Mercado from Fort Collins on July 25, 1954. He worked for Montgomery Wards for a total of eight years and was a self-employed mechanic for more than 15 years. Survivors include wife of 52 years, Patsy Ortiz; five daughters of Fort Collins, Frances Jose, Mary Manuel, Janie Corey, Sara Tito, Lisa Roy; four sons of Fort Collins, Chris Melody, Tony Mona, Eddie, Ernie; 34 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Ortiz from Dallas, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Manuel and Josie Guajardo from California; three godsons, Lloyd Crawford from Houston, Texas, Jeff Crawford from San Antonio, Texas, and James Rodriguez from Fort Collins. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter. Cresencio's favorite past-time was playing his accordion, mechanic work, going to the mountains and family outings. He was our mother's husband, love and best friend for 52 years. Our Dad, Cresencio, will be missed dearly, he was a great dad, friend, grandfather, uncle, whom we love very much. May he rest in peace from this day forward. We love you Dad.
