Cora "Helen" Gueswel passed away on June 15, 2011 at Golden Peaks Care Facility in the Alzheimer Unit, where she has resided for the past two plus years. She was 94. She is survived by her two sons, Carl Gueswel and wife, Jan of Poudre Canyon and Rev. Roy Gueswel and his wife, Pat of Lamar, Colorado. She also has six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings, Annabel Stonemets and Pauline Brookhart of Fort Collins and Jim Lindsey of Edina, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie; infant daughter, Linda and six siblings. She was born May 4, 1917 to Sam and Cora Montague Lindsey in Plevna, Missouri. She was one of nine children. Her childhood was spent in rural Missouri. She met Louie Gueswel and they were married June13, 1936, a marriage that lasted 73 years. They lived in Fort Collins, Washington state and California and eventually moved to Colorado and lived most of their life in the Poudre Canyon area. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and also fishing. They were active in their church in Poudre Park and the community. Family was always the focus of her life. Her door was always open to friends and family and the table was always ready for company. Her legacy of honor, hospitality, and faith in God will last forever. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Golden Peaks for all the care she received there. Also, a special thank you to Pathways Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Pastor Roy Gueswel will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Golden Peaks Alzheimer Unit in her memory in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
