Cora Frank, 102, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the late hours of Friday, March 27, 2026, at Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins.
Cora was born on June 3, 1923, in Watrous, New Mexico, to Eluterio and Adelaida (Salazar) Garcia. Throughout her long life, she was deeply spiritual in her faith and lived with a strong sense of love, kindness, and humor that touched all who knew her.
On July 5, 1973, she married the love of her life, Wilbert (Will) Frank, and together they built a beautiful and lasting marriage, filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Will lovingly embraced her daughter, Rose, as his own, creating a close and cherished family bond.
Cora worked for 17 years as a custodian at the University of Northern Colorado, where she was respected for her dedication and strong work ethic. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, music and dancing, working in her yard, and attending performances at The Repertory Theatre in Grand Lake. One of her greatest joys was riding along in the golf cart as an honorary caddie for her daughter and son-in-law and joining her daughter at golf leagues. She became a beloved part of the course community, always greeted with hugs and cheerful hellos from the cart girls and other golfers.
She was well known in her family for her wonderful sense of humor and for making her famous sopapillas during the holidays—a cherished tradition that brought generations together. She deeply loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, treasuring every visit they shared.
Cora was loved by many and will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Rose (Mundt) Cordova and her husband, Kenny Cordova, of Fort Collins; her grandson, James (Jim) Cordova and his fiancée, Susie Dangerfield, of Fort Collins; and five great grandchildren: Kasi (Ian) Steinheimer of Golden, Colorado; Annie (Shayn) Herndon of Los Angeles, California; Hunter J. Cordova of Denver, Colorado; Riley Rose Cordova of Louisville, Colorado; and Dakota Kenna Cordova of Louisville, Colorado. She is also survived by two great-great granddaughters, Sloan and Maisy Steinheimer, and two "bonus daughters," Sharon Aberegg of Fort Collins and Charlie Salazar of Fort Collins, who were like family to her and held a very special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Will Frank; her parents; her four brothers, Pete, Rudy, Ernie, and Joe Garcia; her three sisters, Lucy Crespin, Francis Garcia, and Mary Mercer; her granddaughter, Deborah (Debbie) Cordova-Konopasek; and many other cherished relatives and friends.
Her faith carried her through life's joys and challenges, and she now rests in God's eternal promise: 'The Lord is my shepherd… I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.' — Psalm 23:1,6. May her memory continue to bring comfort and love to all who knew her.
"Let's see what we do tomorrow," a phrase reflecting her hopeful heart and love for life, is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son.
