Colleen Ann Belisle, 88, of Timnath, Colorado, passed away on September 7, 2025. Colleen was a long-time resident of Monument and Colorado Springs before moving to Timnath.
She was born Colleen Ann McGinley on October 30, 1936, in Ogallala, Nebraska, to Theodore and Marjorie McGinley. She was raised on her family's ranch in Cherry County, Nebraska where she developed her love of being outdoors, horses and skills in horsemanship. Colleen graduated from St. Mary's High School in O'Neil and went on to attend Loretto Heights College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Music Education in 1957. She was a dedicated music teacher who touched the lives of many students through her passion for teaching and music.
Following her career as a teacher Colleen renewed her passion for being outdoors. She enjoyed walking, gardening and became an avid golfer. She was active in the Colorado Springs Women's Golf Association, holding leadership roles and playing regularly with her golf group, the "Black Squirrels" at Eisenhower Golf Club. Colleen also volunteered with the Assistance League of Colorado Springs, where she served as President. Through her golf and volunteer work, she formed many enduring friendships, including the close-knit circle that named themselves the "No Hat Club."
Colleen's greatest joy, was her family. She is remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Aldorien Belisle; her children, Christine Fitzgerald of Fleming Island, Florida; John Belisle of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Brent Belisle of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Colleen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 (Visitation 10:30 AM, Mass 11:00 AM and Reception to follow) at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 300 W. Mountain Ave., Fort Collins, CO. Interment will follow on Monday, September 29, 2025, 1pm, at Mount Saint Francis Columbarium, 7665 Assisi Heights, Colorado Springs, CO 80919.
