Christopher H. Lembcke, 70, of Fort Collins, died October 22, 2016 at a local nursing facility.
Chris was born March 7, 1946 in Aurora, Illinois to the late Charles and Jeanne (Henry) Lembcke.
Chris graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles, Illinois in 1964. He attended Colorado State University and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Production. While attending CSU he joined Farm House Fraternity.
Chris married Vicki Kay Ashbrook on March 21, 1970 in Pueblo, Colorado. The couple moved to Wellington, Colorado where they lived for 36 years, farming and raising Registered Angus Cattle. In the early 1990s, they also started breeding and showing Australian Shepherds. After their retirement from farming, the couple moved to Fort Collins.
After graduation Chris served on the Association Board of the Colorado Farm House Chapter. He also served 8 years as a Director on the Farm House International Board from 1980 to 1988. He received the Farm House highest honor of "Master Builder" in 2006. He served 6 years on the Larimer County Environmental Advisory Board. He also was an active member of several Australian Shepherd Clubs as well as the Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club. He held various positions over the years in all of the clubs of which he was a member.
Chris loved to travel extensively with his wife, Vicki and really enjoyed their time share in Grand Cayman. Chris also loved football and showing and herding with his favorite Aussie, TJ.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki; sisters, Marcia Hodgson of San Diego, CA, Sara McAllister of Carbondale, CO; niece, Candace (Ken) Oertle of San Diego, CA and their daughter, April; nephews, Tim Hodgson of La Quinta, CA, Cody (Ashley) McAllister of Fort Collins, CO and their children, Mason and Harper, and Skyler (Jessica) McAllister of New Castle, CO.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
