Christine Wyatt

Christine Chris Wyatt of Loveland, CO, found peace in God's embrace Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Chris was born on September 4, 1949 to Earl Jim Valentine and Jeanette Valentine in Tiffin, Ohio. Chris, the eldest of five children, moved with her family to Wellington, Colorado, in 1969. Chris met her beloved husband, Steve Wyatt, while she was attending the University of Northern Colorado and they were married on June 19, 1971 at the American Baptist Church in Ft. Collins, CO. Shortly after she married, Chris earned her Elementary Education degree from UNC and enjoyed teaching 4th grade at Eaton Elementary for several years before starting her own family. Chris and Steve were blessed with their son, Lindsay, in October of 1978 and their daughter, Amy, in August of 1981. The family moved to Anacortes, Washington in 1990 before returning to Greeley in 1991. In 1996 they moved to Loveland, CO where Chris was active in her church and school activities for Lindsay and Amy. Chris and Steve loved the Pacific Northwest and returned frequently to the area. A favorite place to visit was the Tulip Festival in the Skagit Valley near Anacortes. Some of her fondest memories were time spent on their boat exploring the San Juan Islands and Vancouver Island, BC. Chris loved Jesus with an open and seeking heart. A devout mother and beloved wife, her family was always uppermost in her thoughts and deeds. Together, Chris and Steve used their strong faith as the foundation for the loving and sound Christian home they provided for Lindsay and Amy. In addition to being a wonderful cook and industrious homemaker for her own family, Chris could always be counted on to help when needed most by her family, friends, church, and neighbors. The giving spirit and helpful ways that defined Chris's life now rest in the hearts of all who loved and cherished her. Chris is preceded in death by her father, Jim, and mother, Jeanette. She is survived by her immediate family: husband, Steve Wyatt, of Loveland, CO; son, Lindsay Wyatt, of Longmont, CO; and daughter, Amy Wyatt, of Brooklyn, NY. Christine is also survived by her beloved siblings and their families: Seth Valentine and his wife Sue of Spokane, WA; Matt Valentine and his wife Karen, of Ft. Collins; Eric Valentine of Fort Collins; and Sarah Tracy and her husband Mick of Cheyenne, WY. A memorial service for Chris will be held Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. at the American Baptist Church, 600 S. Shields, Ft. Collins, CO.
