Listen to Obituary
Christine Ann Braun, a native of New Holland, Ohio, former Chief Dietician at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming and long time resident of Fort Collins, Colorado, died on September 22, 2015 after a long struggle with cancer.

Chris grew up on her family's farm, raised sheep for 4-H Club and was "Lamb and Wool Queen" at the Ohio State Fair. Chris graduated from Miami Trace High School, received her bachelor's degree from Ohio State University, and her Master's degree from the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. At OSU, Chris was active in her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi.

Chris immensely enjoyed many hobbies, including card stamping, scrapbooking, needlepoint, photography, sewing, embroidery, reading, baking with Katie, gardening, playing euchre, watching the OSU Buckeyes play football and basketball, camping, hiking, downhill skiing, sailing, and traveling. Chris loved to shop and never met a chocolate that she didn't like! Chris was an adventurer, as she photographed leopards in Africa, observed polar bears in the Arctic, walked among penguins in Antarctica and sailed the deep blue Atlantic Ocean.

In May 2015 Chris, Jim, Katie and Cousin John sailed nonstop for 4 days from Fort Lauderdale Florida to Southport, North Carolina on their new sailboat, "Christine". Her favorite moments at sea were when dolphins swam alongside the ship, playing in the bow waves.

Chris' life revolved around practicing her Christian faith and nurturing relationships based on integrity, thoughtfulness and kindness. Chris was an eternal optimist; her constant smile was contagious.

Chris leaves her husband, Jim; their daughter, Katie; parents, Pat and Ed Taylor; brother, Art; nephews and nieces, Clayton, Nathan, Lauren, Edward and Robert and many beloved extended family members.
