Christene Louise Solomon was born on September 12, 1935. She was the first born of John W. and Louise Busby of Clearfield, Iowa. Christene received her education at the Clearfield Community School. As a young girl, she struggled with asthma and because of this condition, spent many summers away from her family in Iowa to live in the drier climate of Colorado with extended family.

In May of 1953, Christene married Bill D. Fearnot. She resided in Clearfield, Iowa while Bill served in the Army. Upon his return, they farmed west of Clearfield on her grandparent's farm.

Bill and Christene were blessed with two daughters, Kathy and Connie. Due to her continued struggle with asthma, the family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1958. Christene was fortunate to be a stay at home mother. When her daughters were young adults, she worked at a bank in the printing department. This sparked an interest in this business and later went on to start her own in-home printing business. Because she enjoyed this business, it became a hobby as well as a job.

Christene married E. Dale Solomon on September 2, 1983. Dale worked for Amoco Oil and therefore they resided in Evanston, Wyoming. Christene continued to enjoy her printing business and met people in the community by doing printing jobs for various businesses.

Christene loved to travel. She especially enjoyed going to Las Vegas and taking a cruise. She truly enjoyed her many years of volunteering at the Evanston Hospital gift shop.

In their retirement years, a park model was purchased in Beaver Dam, Arizona and they began wintering there. Christene very much enjoyed her friends "down South". Each fall she would spend days getting things cleaned and prepared for heading to Arizona for the winter. She prepared foods to put in the freezer but, most notably, made dozens of cookies and cupcakes to share at the clubhouse with her friends. She was known as the "Cupcake Lady" among her friends at the retirement park because she always had cupcakes to celebrate everyone's birthday. Christine had very high hopes for returning to Beaver Dam again this year.

Christene battled heart related issues the last several years of her life. She ultimately lost her life due to a heart that just could no longer function properly. She passed on November 3, 2016 at the University of Utah Hospital.

Christene is preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, John (Bud) and Larry.

Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 33 years, Dale, of Evanston, Wyoming; sister, Pat Walling of West Des Moines, Iowa; daughter, Kathy (Bill) Umbaugh of Gallatin Gateway,
Montana; daughter, Connie (Bill) Larsen of Clearfield, Iowa; grandchildren, Katrina (Adam) Dredge of Mt. Ayr, Iowa; Sarah (Kurtis) Freeman of Norwalk, Iowa; JD Umbaugh of Fife, Washington; Abby (Wes) Allen of Bozeman, Montana; Luke (Beth) Larsen of Clearfield, Iowa; Andrea (Josh) Broesder of Algona, Iowa; Jim Umbaugh of Port Orchard, Washington; great grandchildren, Adalynn, Tarynn, Myah, Avah, Mattaya, Kendal, Crew, Trey, Carson and Dillon; Dale's children, Rod, Dean and Caroline Sue; and Dale's grandson, Robert.
