Chris LaPole was born in 1966 in Southern California. As a young boy he formed a love of the outdoors through spending summers at his grandparent's home in Northern California, where he spent time fishing and exploring in the woods. Growing up in Southern California, Chris enjoyed being at the beach, surfing, and ocean fishing. He also spent his younger years skiing, mountain biking, and rock climbing in the California mountains and desert. He loved being out in nature.

It was in Southern California, while working at Kawasaki, that Chris met his wife Elizabeth in 2004. Chris & Elizabeth married May 2007, and later had daughter, Abigail, in 2009. Ultimately, their love of the outdoors and Colorado specifically, led them to relocate there after their marriage, finally settling in Northern Colorado in 2013. Chris worked in the oil & gas industry at Suncor Energy, where he daily displayed his incredible work ethic and desire to continually learn and grow.

Those who knew Chris best knew him to be an avid outdoorsman and devoted family man. Chris loved fishing, hunting, camping, mining history and rockhounding and instilled a love and appreciation of all these things in Elizabeth & Abigail as well. As a family, they escaped to the mountains whenever they could, along with Black Lab Mia, spending time together off roading, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors. It was in doing these things with his wife and daughter that Chris found the greatest joy.

Chris passed away suddenly, Saturday, October 26th, 2024, while in the mountains of Northern Colorado, surrounded by the nature he so loved. Chris is survived by his loving wife of 17
years, Elizabeth, daughter Abigail (15), son Shawn (34), mother Peggy LaPole (Gerry Woods) and in-laws Jack & Jane Knox.
