Cheryl Lynn Mcgoffin

Cheryl "Cheri" Lynn McGoffin January 18, 1956 —July 25, 2010 Our beloved angel, Cheryl "Cheri" Lynn McGoffin, 54, spread her wings and returned to her Lord on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, July 25, 2010, after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She left this life as she lived it with immense love, beauty, and grace. Cheryl was born on January 18, 1956 in Dallas, TX, had a very active childhood until her graduation from Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, TX in 1974. Her adult adventures began with purpose and gusto, including giving birth to her three beautiful children, becoming a world traveler, and rediscovering her deep passion for art, having studied with many of her mentors including Richard Schmid and David Lafelle. Her affinity for the earth's creatures was never ceasing, especially horses and the menagerie of house pets that were her constant companions. She was an amazing gift to this earth-leaving her handprint on the hearts of all those fortunate enough to meet her. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Wade Lee; Uncle Gordon and Aunt Joyce; her close friend Patsy; and many relatives. Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Steven McGoffin; daughters Monica Parish and Melissa McGoffin; son, Jonathan McGoffin; mother, Elinore McLerran; brother, Kerry Lee; her "pea", Kathy; and numerous family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A reception will follow at the Bohlender Funeral Chapel Reception Room.
