Charlotte Gene Raser left this life the same way she lived it; in her own time, on her own terms on March 26, 2017 peacefully after a long illness.
She was born on the family farm in Alda, Nebraska on May 5, 1931 where she was raised along with her twin brother, Charles, by her grandparents, Frank and Mabel Denman.
After high school graduation in Chapman, Nebraska, she took a job with the Navy Department in Washington DC. In 1950 she married Lyle Raser in Chapman. In 1954 they moved to Colorado where they resided the rest of their lives.
She was an accomplished musician, she played the piano and the organ and sang in church choirs over the years. The last month of her life she spent a lot of time playing hymns on the organ. Music and her sense of humor were the only things her dementia didn't steal away from her.
She was an avid gardener and also was a talented cake decorator and seamstress. She was a dog lover and her family was very important to her.
She was a complicated person who loved the simple things in life. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lyle; brother, Charles and his wife, Katherine; sister-in-law and life-long friend, Donna. She is survived by her treasured companion, Rocky; four children, Pam (Mark) Hampton, Cheryl (Mark)Buderus, Scott Raser and Jan (Bret) Murrow; grandchildren, Jesse, Jay, Keith, Kelsey, Danny, Shane, Casey, Zach and Colt, and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived her sister, Jackie; brother-in-law, Lemoyne and sister-in-law, Verla.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elder Pet Care, 909 N. College Ave., Fort Collins, Colorado, 80524.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Roselawn Cemetery.
