Listen to Obituary
Charlotte Ann Giles, 82, of Loveland, CO passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 31, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother and friend and her presence will be deeply missed.

Charlotte was born in Scottsbluff, NE on September 27, 1943 to Paul and Sylvia Swanson. Charlotte attended nursing school in Nebraska before marrying James Giles in 1964 and spending the next 25 years as an Air Force family in Dover, DE; Charleston, SC and Okinawa, Japan. The young family returned to the states and settled in the northern CA community of Marysville. Charlotte and James raised two boys in Northern CA, while Charlotte was a respected nurse specializing in IV Therapy.

.

Charlotte’s kindness, compassion and humanity was evident to all who met her. James and Charlotte spent their retirement years in Loveland, CO, active with their church and various clubs, but always prioritizing time with family. Ever the nurse, she could always be counted on to show up with a smile, snacks and a plan. She exuded love to everyone she encountered, volunteering for many years at the Community Kitchen in Loveland. James and Charlotte attended virtually every sporting event, band concert and milestone throughout their grandchildren’s childhoods. Charlotte’s impacts as a mother, mother in law, and grandmother will be felt for generations to come; she embodied love, patience and kindness. She was our wise matriarch.

Charlotte is survived by her adult sons, Tim, of Oroville, CA and Terry, of Fort Collins, CO (Gretta St Martin); her grandchildren Sierra (Oroville, CA) and Marcus and Sean (Fort Collins, CO). She was preceded in death by her devoted husband James; her infant son Mark; brothers, Dick and Don; and her parents, Slyvia and Paul.
