Charles August Segelquist, 87, of Fort Collins, Colorado, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior on June 2, 2025. Born on September 5, 1937, in Alvin, Texas to Victor and Mildred Segelquist, Charles led a life marked by compassion, humility, and service to others.
He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, his sister, and two brothers. He is survived by one sister, three children, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and an army of cherished church friends who will miss his wisdom, warmth, and faithful presence.
Charles held a Bachelor and Master of Science in Wildlife Management from Texas A&M University and later earned his Doctorate of Philosophy from Oklahoma State University. His love of learning and nature was only rivaled by his love for people.
Throughout his life, Charles was known for his unwavering dedication to ministry and volunteer work. At the Vineyard Church of the Rockies, he faithfully led small groups and found his deepest calling in supporting individuals and families facing the challenges of addiction. His greatest strength was his capacity to love everyone—especially those often overlooked or cast aside by society.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on 10 am Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Vineyard Church of the Rockies, 1201 Riverside Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80524.
In remembering Charles, we take comfort in the words of Scripture that guided his life:
"Let all that you do be done in love." – 1 Corinthians 16:14
"In my Father's house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you." – John 14:2-3
Charles's legacy of love, service, and faith lives on in all those he touched.
