Charles George Rhodes, Jr. of Fort Collins passed away on February 4, 2011. He was born in Alma, Michigan on October 20, 1921. Chuck served in the Air Force during World War II. He married Cris Riel on November 1, 1947. Together they ran a cattle ranch in Kingman, Arizona. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Davis in agriculture economics and worked as a bank manager in California before moving his family to Fort Collins in 1966 to become a property manager. He is survived by his loving wife, Cris; four children: Torrey Gray, Charles George Rhodes, III, Robin Schottleutner, William Riel Rhodes, their spouses, fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Chuck loved his Lord Jesus. For many years he and Cris taught the two year old Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Fort Collins. He also enjoyed singing in the choir. He will be greatly missed by his family. A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, 900 E. Prospect on Monday at 11:00 a.m. A Private Graveside service with Military Honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard will be held. Pastor Dale Williams will officiate. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions for the Children's Reconstructive Surgery Fund in Kenya can be made to Kapsowar Mission Hospital in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
