On Saturday, October 26, 2024, Charlene June Mulnix, age 85, departed this earth from Windsor, Colorado, for a well-earned rest with her Savior. She was born on April 26, 1939, in Windsor, Colorado, to Carl Keller and Mary Lind Keller. A lifelong Coloradoan, she spent much of her childhood on her parents' farm in Fort Collins. Charlene graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1957 and earned a degree in Speech Pathology from Colorado State University in 1961.
On August 20, 1961, she married John Arthur Mulnix at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, where she was a long-time member. Charlene devoted her life to raising her four children, volunteering for many years within the Poudre R1 School District, and ultimately working as a career counselor at Rocky Mountain High School. Her impact on the students who walked through her office was profound— they loved Char!
Charlene's passion for antiques connected her with a group called The Questers, through which she contributed to numerous projects, including the refurbishment of the old Boxelder Schoolhouse. Her love for antiques inspired a lifetime of collecting.
She and John shared fifty-four wonderful years of marriage. Our mother was incredibly loving, patient, kind, and generous. She cherished attending sporting events, choir concerts, and plays for her children and grandchildren, relishing every moment spent with her family. Char loved to travel, enjoyed hummingbirds, arranged beautiful flowers, and engaged in spirited conversations on a variety of topics. An amazing cook, she delighted in sharing her baking skills with neighborhood kids, church gatherings, school socials, and family events.
Her love of life and family fueled her determination to fight for every day she had on this earth. Those of us who knew and loved her were continually in awe of her strength. We will miss her immensely.
Charlene is survived by her four children: Brett Mulnix; Michelle Squire and her husband, Scott; Kristen Warner; and Blaine Mulnix and his wife, Melissa. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: John Mulnix and his wife Simone; Martha Mulnix and her husband Jordan; Cade Warner; Regan Warner; Bailey Squire; Bryan Squire; Miles Mulnix; Liviya Mulnix; and Parker Mulnix; one great-grandchild Astrid, and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her granddaughter, Kathryn Mulnix; and her son-in-law, Greg Warner.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday November 8th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Stuart.
