Chancey Stewart, 94, of Loveland, died December 19, 2005 at the Loveland Good Samaritan Retirement Village. Mr. Stewart was born October 27, 1911 in Dannebrog, Nebraska to Chauncey Stewart and Bertha Nielsen Stewart. Chancey was raised in Dannebrog and married Velma E. Adams on May 18, 1937 in St. Paul, Nebraska. They moved to Denver, Colorado in 1939 to begin his contracting business. He retired in 1971 and he and Velma returned to Dannebrog. They then moved to Loveland in 2002. Chancey enjoyed woodworking. Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife Velma of Loveland; two sons, Chancey Jay Stewart of Chesterfield, Virginia and Ronald Joe Stewart of Eugene, Oregon; a daughter, Melva Colby and her husband, Ron of Longmont, Colorado; a sister, Marjorie Flynn of South Pasadena, California, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Preceding Chancey in death are his parents and two brothers, Dale and Wayne Stewart. A private family service with burial of cremains in Dannebrog will be held at a later date.
