Ceria Santistevan, 88, of Fort Collins, died Aug. 18, 2008, at a local nursing home just a few hours short of her 89th birthday. Mrs. Santistevan was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Red Wing to John Y. Martinez and Rose Salazar Martinez. Ceria married August "Gus" Santistevan on Aug. 30, 1940, in Raton, N.M. She lived her whole life in Colorado and moved from Red Wing to Fort Collins. Ceria worked for many years as a secretary for the U.S. National Forest Service. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. For all of her life, Ceria had a big beautiful smile for everybody and will be remembered for it. Survivors include her three sons, August Henry Santistevan of Glendale, Calif., and Harold and Warren Santistevan both of Fort Collins; four sisters, Eloida Feltch, Bertha Apodaca, and Julia Manchego all of Fort Collins and Aurora Dick of Spivey, Kan., three grandsons and one great-grandson. Preceding Ceria in death are her parents, her husband, four sisters, a brother, and a grandson, John Santistevan. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Father Damian de la Cruz will officiate at the services.
