Celia Salazar

Celia M. Salazar, 81, of Fort Collins, died Aug. 4, 2008, at Poudre Valley Hospital. Celia was born July 22, 1927, in Ingleside, to Pete Chavez and Romie Silva Chavez. She married Louis Salazar on Feb. 23, 1952, in Fort Collins. Celia was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church and an active member of Ancianos Unidos at the Atzlan Senior Center. Survivors include her son, Louie "Tito" Salazar of Fort Collins; two daughters, Rita M. Cisneros and her husband Bob of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Terry A. Garner and her husband Ken of Fort Collins; a sister, Della Ortivez and her husband Louie of Fort Collins; and six grandchildren, Mike Salazar, Robert and Daniel Cisneros, and Amy, Andrea and Jessica Garner. Preceding Celia in death are her parents; and her husband of 56 years, Louis. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Father Damian de la Cruz, C.R. will officiate the service. Friends may send condolences to the family at bohlenderfuneralchapel.
