Cecil W. King, 77, of Fort Collins, died unexpectedly on Aug. 18, 2008, in a car accident returning home from a family reunion in Minnesota. Mr. King was born in Westover, Pa., on Aug. 15, 1931. He was the son of Paul and Willeta King. He married Martha Schrom in 1959, in Los Angeles, Calif. Cecil and Martha had one son, Kenneth King, of Johnstown. Mr. King is survived by his wife, Martha; his son Kenneth; two grandchildren, Kendra King and Jamie Frey; three great grandchildren, Shelby, Marissa and Mathew; one brother, Emerson King of Fort Collins; two sisters, June Hendrikson of Annadale, Va., and Pauline Campbell of Westover, Pa.; and one aunt, Florence Owens of Redding, Calif. Mr. King was an Army veteran who served in the Korean War where he was decorated with seven major battle stars. He had a career working for United Airlines in Los Angeles. He moved with his family to Fort Collins in 1964 and continued working for United Airlines in Denver until he retired in 1986. Following his retirement he worked for the Bohlender family at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Cecil was a "dedicated" grandfather, father, brother, uncle and husband. He dearly loved his family. He will be deeply missed by all of us. A Graveside Service for Mr. King with full military honors by the All Veteran's Honor Guard will be held on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area A, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic School in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W.
