Catherine Marie Zimmerman (née Bauerschmidt), born October 15, 1921, passed away May 22, 2017 in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Visitation will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins on Friday, June 2 from 4:00 – 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be said during the Viewing at Bohlender's, starting at 6:30 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 am with Father Jacob Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.

Catherine was born in Rochester, New York to Edward and Mary Bauerschmidt. She attended Our Lady of Mercy High School, graduating in the Class of 1939. During World War II, Catherine volunteered to work with the American Red Cross in Rochester area medical facilities. She went on to business school and eventually went to work for the Eastman Kodak Company. While employed there, Catherine met the love of her life, Arthur W. Zimmerman, at a YMCA dance in 1948. They were married on February 5, 1949 and lived in the Rochester area where they eventually raised nine children.

In 1970, Arthur accepted an offer to be among the first Kodak management staff to relocate to Colorado. They settled in Fort Collins in 1971. As a life-long Roman Catholic, Catherine immediately made St. Joseph's her spiritual home and joined the Legion of Mary. With her children grown, she immersed herself in supporting the Church, including providing Eucharistic support to the infirm until she, herself could no longer drive. She enjoyed movies, reading (especially Agatha Christie novels), and spending time with her family.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary. She is survived by her husband Arthur, children Eric (Caterina), Mark, Mary Lou (Borden) Mills, Craig (Carma), Gary, Denise (Pamela), Jon, Jeffrey (Jackie), and Lance (Trisha). She had 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and nephews and nieces too numerous to count.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northern Colorado Catholic Charities, in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
